Yesterday I had to remove a Laburnum tree which had been split a apart by Winter winds, also it was rotten at the base so I spent the day removing it and some Ivy from the wall as in places the Laburnum, Ivy and wall had become one.
Today is my first day back at work after a weeks break, I'm sort of nutural about the idea, I don't mind being here but if the boss told me to take another week of then I wouldn't put much of an argument.
Anyway I am busy changing the soil I'm the greenhouse border. This something I do every year to prevent the build up of pests and such like. It's a bit of a chore but hopefully a worthwhile one. I swap the soil with some from an undug piece of ground in the veg garden so really I'm doing two jobs at once. Also when all the moving is done I cloche the soil from the greenhouse as it's warmed up to some degree so makes a good patch of ground for some early salad crops.
